I met Samantha in high school back when I was taking photography classes. It was the only class we had together and we hit it off. We ended up becoming really good friends and I'll never forget having to spend most of prom in the bathroom scraping gum off of her dress because someone decided it was a good idea to spit theirs out and put it on a chair. Poor Sam. When she told me she was getting married I just HAD to make the joke about how I would be there for her if she needed me to scrape gum off of her wedding dress. Thankfully she didn't need me to do that! Sometimes weddings don't go as planned. Hair can take longer the day of than it did during the trial. Someone forgot something or in Sam and Joe's case; Rain. We watched the weather for weeks praying that it would hold off but no luck. It rained the entire week! Sam kept her spirits high. "The venue looks beautiful when wet." she kept reassuring herself and her husband to be. She wasn't wrong! It was gorgeous! The rain made the stone building and trees glisten. It was magical. They always say that rain on your wedding day is good luck! Everything about Sam's wedding was DIY. (Do. It. Yourself) It was amazing watching her put together her wedding. As a wedding photographer, I don't get to see this often. It really opened by eyes. I have no doubt that Samantha and Joe were meant for each other. Their love for each other and their 3 kids was just as beautiful as their wedding. Take a look at their Fredrick, MD wedding!
